I wasn't named for the first year of my life because my mom wanted to get to know me. Everyone just called me Baby. // Growing up, everything about me was abnormal: single mom; one-bedroom apartment; half black, half white; and I've been six feet tall since I was four.* // I think I have Irish ancestors nobody's told me about.
